Flooded
There was a storm brewing over the horizon. The faint flashes of lightning in the distance made me feel warry. Normally storms don't make me feel distressed. But this one felt different. The sky that was once blue is turning pitch black. Even from a distance you can hear the downpour. I knew this was no ordinary storm.

I went inside to make preparations for the rain and wind that were bound to follow. I shut all the windows and doors and made sure to lock them as well. I went into the basement and made sure I had enough rations just incase anything were to happen. I opened my weather app on my phone and began watching the radar. Just as I did, I began hearing the bullets of rain beat against the house almost as if it were coming sideways. The wind was tearing through the land as if nothing were in it's way. I looked at the radar and I was in a big purple blob. Purple meaning a mix of everything and the winds were set to be one hundred plus miles per hour. I thought I'd be safe in the basement, but little did I know what was to come.

I noticed water start leaking in. It seemed to be coming from all sides. So I exited the basement and made my way up the stairs. As I reached the top I noticed the door was leaking a lot of water from underneath it. Almost as if it was a natural stream. I opened the door and couldn't believe my eyes.

The whole place was flooded. When I opened the door the water about swept me down the stairs. I was wadding through my own house. The water didn't make it easy to walk. I realized now this storm was a flash flood. I looked out my window and, to no surprise, the entire world looked flooded. Cars tires seemed to have disappeared under the water. Trash was floating everywhere and the water looked darker than the sky. I've never seen so much water in a town in my life. It just kept coming and coming and coming and coming. It almost seemed like the sky was pouring water everywhere. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I made my way outside to climb on to my roof. But by the time I got outside and tried to find a ladder, I could basically swim up to my roof. I almost got swept away trying to get to my roof. If only I had drove away in time. I could've been fine. No one was around and no one was gonna save me.

Several minutes later I realized I was in certain doom. I stood up, closed my eyes, wrapped my arms around myself, and jumped in the water. I instantly got swept under by the current. As I began to let out my last breath I felt something grab my hand. I'm not sure what's happening now because I'm pretty sure I'm dead...
