I slowly squinted my eyes, blinded by the light from the window cascading upon the whole room. Upon my dear eyes adjusting to the light, had I noticed the BREAKING NEWS posted on my TV screen. Confused, I grabbed the remote to turn up the volume.
BREAKING NEWS
"Good Morning, this is Seoul Breaking News with an urgent message. Anyone tuning in, please listen with all of your attention."
"There has been a nation wide emergency. Many citizens, especially in the city of Seoul, have reported either hearing or seeing strange creatures. As of now, we do not know what these beings are or where they originated from, but one thing we do know is that they are very hostile.
Some reports say that most are dangerous and difficult to harm, as well as some inhabiting cannibalistic tendencies. Others have inhuman capabilities such as bending into all sorts of forms, transforming into liquids and having 100x the strength of a full grown adult.
As of now, that is all we know. However, this will be delt with the most seriousness from the military. Please, stay inside your homes and answer to no one. We will update once we have more information."
"Well, that's something to wake up to."
I mumble to no one in particular. Was I still dreaming? It was only then when the seriousness of the situation had gotten to me,
"Nation-wide emergency? What the hell?"
I stood up quickly, only to knock my knee on the coffee table,
"AH FUCK! JESUS!"
Holding my foot in agony, the whole room goes silent. Too silent.
I start to feel something, a presence somewhere close to me but no one is around. I live alone.
Standing up properly now, my foot still trobbing, I made my way towards the enterance to my home. The door was closed, locked even. Thank god.
I search the entire house but I can't shake the feeling that im being watched. The curtains were opened a slight crack, allowing the orange yellowish light inside the room. That was odd. It wasnt sunrise or sunset...
Maybe if I checked outside then I would be able to figure out what was going on. That's when I felt something. I licked my lips, blood.
I ran all the way to my bathroom mirror as I couldn't control the mess that my nose was uncontrollably making. I was never one to randomly have a nose bleed, what the hell was happening?
Lots of blood, pools of it shot out of my nostrils as I looked myself in the mirror. Then, I felt it again. My pupils darkened. Staring in the mirror, that was not me.
Staring back was me, but It was not truly me. My eyes, instead of being the deep, dark brown, had turned completely black. The whites of my eyes included. Dark blood continued to pool out of my nose and into the bathroom sink. It spoke to me..
"You must be afraid right now, aren't you, Ae-Cha?"
"Who are you?"
"I am you."
"You are not me. Not the real me."
"Oh, but I am the real you. The real you that you shut away from the world. But I am here now."
"What do you want from me?"
"What is your desire?"
