Dancing With Your Ghost: One Last Dance
"I love you in every lifetime, and we'll see each other again, love."
                                                     ~ Zoë Kaià

As Karen was cleaning the house, she found the medical records of Gino and his medicines that were hidden in a secret place.

"What? Alzheimers? Oh my God!" Karen just cried harder and harder.

Gino came home that night happy, "Love!" Gino shouted looking for Karen.

He found Karen in the kitchen, crying hard and she was crunching her head to her knees, embracing it.

"What happened to you? Why are you crying?" Gino asked Karen worriedly.

"Why didn't you tell me that you have Alzheimer's?" Karen just punched the chest of Gino.

Gino just hugged Karen, comforting her.

"Can you dance with me?" Karen asked Gino.

"Of course, love," Gino answered Karen.

Karen played the stereo into the tune of "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?"

As they were dancing Gino whispered his symphony of love for Karen and their love will never be torn apart.

"Love, I'm tired already," Gino said to Karen.

"Okay, let's rest," Karen answered Gino.

They were laying on the bed and hugging each other only God knows when.

Morning came, "Love, wake up, it's time for work!" Karen cheerfully woke up Gino, but she got no answer.

"Love, please wake up," Karen started crying.

"LOVE......." Karen wailed as she hugged the body of her husband.

"Mommy, what happened?" Moira asked her mom why she was crying.

"Your dad is gone," Karen still crying, explained to Moira and Sevi why is their dad dead.

"Hush now, Mom, we're still here," Moira said to her mom and then she hugged her mom so tight.

Gino peacefully died in the morning.

On the grave, Sevi, one of the children of Karen and Gino handed a letter to Karen that says...

Love,

As you've read this letter right now, I might be dead I know you're gonna take care of the kids, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about my illness, I just recently found out that I have Alzheimer's and it was terminal stage already, I found out this on my check up last month due to my forgetfulness about certain things, there's no doubt that you're gonna raise them properly, you're a perfect wife and a mom, you're the strongest woman I've ever met, I love you to eternity and we'll see each other again up here when the time is right.

Sincerely yours, Gino ❤️

Karen just cried as she recalled all her memories with Gino, the laughs, tears, fights, love, care and misunderstanding.

"Mommy," Sevi and Moira hugged their mom, comforting her, and saying that everything going to be just fine.

Karen took care of the children and as they grew up, she died at 80 she had 8 grandchildren and she didn't anymore get married after Gino.

"Be with Dad now Mom, and we'll be fine here," Sevi and Moira whispered into the thin air, as their mom passed away.

(Dancing With Your Ghost means dancing with the memories.)

THE END.
