She chose her cleanest piece of clothing to wear. It was a festival afterall and she wanted to celebrate with everyone else. When she stepped into the street a speeding car drove by splashing dirty water on her.

A tear fell down her cheek. The poor had no right to celebrate with the rich or royalty, she thought this was a sign confirming this. This was a festival for a prince to celebrate his 21st birthday, his parents also hoped he would find his true love but she didn't expect anything she just wanted to enjoy for once, she thought who in their right mind would choose a poor, nerdy and ugly girl to be their soulmate so she didn't even think of finding someone.

She went back home and decided not to go to the festival, it's wasn't a big of a deal she thought. As she entered her room she found a beautiful dress in her bed and a note saying it is a gift for her to wear to the festival, she was really surprised but excited to go back to the festival to honour this person's wish. To her surprise as she arrived she realized the festival was for a person she holds dear in her heart, her one and only best friend. As she approach the stage where people were dancing she could feel her heart beating faster and in that moment the prince saw her as he was waiting and looking it was his first time he saw her like this not hiding behind her clothes or hair and he asked her for the first dance. Who can say no to a prince even if you are angry at him for not telling you anything for so many years, so they danced and a tear just dropped from Cindy's eye than she decided to leave. The prince followed her outside as he saw she was about to cry he held her close to his chest and everyone knows she can't fight him or her feelings, she felt safer in his arms and could feel his heart beat getting stronger and she went back home, he also asked for forgiveness for not telling her that he was a prince. She could not get him out of her mind and she felt her heart falling for her best friend, also Steve the prince felt the same way but for him he felt this way since they first met, he has been crazy in love with her. After that night Cindy kept avoiding Steve so he got worried and came to her house every afternoon to try to talk to her but it was not good enough, as the distance grew between them they just fell deeper in love with each other.

As the prince got tired and could not hold his feeling back he decided to write a note to Cindy confessing his love to her. They decided to meet up and talk face to face, then the prince asked Cindy why she thought she was not good enough to be with him, so she explained and he said that true love is not about who you are or what you have it is about your heart desires. Then he told her that she is beautiful inside out and she is the first person that his heart ever beats for she was his true love, she cried and he pushed her hair back to reveal her pretty face and wipe her tears. The lesson she learnt was that true love exists and as a person you must be honest to yourself and your feelings, what you have does not define who you are and never look down on your self as you are special, unique and a gift from God. She also admitted her feelings for her friend the 'prince' and they happily in love ever after, carried on being the best of friends and lovers.
