Things can only get better part two
Part 2 things can only get better.

Indigo looked at her laptop the words on her screen seeming to mingle together, she saved her work and closed it, leaving it charging on her bed. She stood up and stretched before she walked down the hallway, it was now dark outside she noticed, as she walked into the living room she turned the light on and drew the curtains. Sitting herself down next to Dynamo who was all stretched out on the seat beside her, he looked at her for a moment before resuming his nap.

"I must have fallen asleep," She said sleepily to herself as the television was still blaring she reached for the remote and turned it down Dynamo was now on the window ledge just sitting there watching her. "You need to judge me, mister," she said to him, she stretched which felt good to do. Then slowly she stood up realizing it was only six in the morning, "We're up pretty early aren't we?" she added
"Meow" Dynamo replied as if trying to hold a conversation with her, she smiled at him
"Come on then, let's get your breakfast," She told him leading the way to the kitchen, she gently made his food up and put it down for him lovingly, she did love Dynamo he had been the one constant in her life and had kept her going when things got hard, he was there encouraging her to get up and carry on, along with Jackson, they were both her very good friends.

Having made her cup of tea she went and sat on the step of her front door to enjoy the early morning sunshine, not to mention Tobias, she sat there hoping she'd see him if he had to leave for work, it was early so there was every chance she could see him and would be able to make it known she was his neighbor. She finished her cup of tea but still, Tobias hadn't come out of his home, she frowned, she walked back into her flat, feeling deflated.
"I will bump into him," she told Dynamo who looked up at her but carried on into the living room "Clearly you are unimpressed too, Jackson will be proud of you Dynamo" she stated not that the cat was listening now. She watched him from the doorway jump up onto the sofa. "Happy now aye," she said softly she smiled at Dynamo and walked to her window, she looked over towards Tobias's home, wondering whether she should just knock on and welcome him to the neighborhood,
"People do that it's not a weird thing to do," she told herself, "It's a bit early at the moment though." She added looking at her clock on the wall. Instead, she picked up her phone and called Jackson knowing he would be on his way to work now.
"Hello," he said she could hear the traffic in the background.
"Hey, how's your morning?"
"Good, you? Have you magically fell on Tobias's doorstep yet?" He asked her, knowing her well
"Not yet, but welcoming a neighbor to the neighborhood isn't a weird thing to do" she pointed out
"I knew you would think of something. But you right that isn't" he stated. With a little chuckle to himself, "To be honest I thought you would have done that last night."
"I had to finish the chapter last night, I haven't even started today's yet."
"Don't you think you should start that now if you are planning a day of stalking your neighbor"
"I'm not stalking him. I'm just patiently waiting to meet him face to face." She let him know.
"After all these years he still has that effect on you," he said, she could tell he was having his his little tupence worth just like she knew he would. Just like he had all those years ago.

After the call, she paced the house backward and forwards trying to figure out what she would say to him, when she eventually knocked on the door, she hadn't seen him for a long time, which made her wonder whether it would feel awkward or whether it would feel like they'd never had any time apart.
"Oh Dynamo, what if it's awkward?" She asked her cat, who lifted his head to look up at her but offered no comment or solution for her dilemma. He was no help to her where that was concerned.

She stood at her front door for two minutes before plucking up the courage to walk out of it. She got to his front door faster than she had anticipated, standing there she froze for a second wondering if this was a bad idea.
Before she had a chance to change her mind the front door opened, completely stunned she looked at Tobias in shock at first.
"Indigo!" Was the first thing to come out of his mouth
"Tobias" She managed to answer
"What are you doing here?" He asked surprised to see her, she said the first thing that came to her mind.
"I saw the lorry the other night, thought I'd come to welcome the new neighbor to the neighborhood, I didn't realize it was you" half lying. She just didn't want him to think she was stalking him, as Jackson would say to tease her, but she had taken it to heart more than she had realized until now.
"You live round here?" He asked her
"Yeh' the house, well flat opposite yours" she admitted, pointing over to it.
"Cool," he said, "I haven't seen you for years, how've you been?" He asked her
"Good, what about you? Last I heard you were traveling around America"
"yeh I was, but thought I needed to set up roots somewhere, I kinda missed home, so got this place." He told her, "Never would have guessed I'd bump into you though" he added.
"I've never left this crazy town" she admitted feeling a little embarrassed by that, but she loved Jacksonville it had been where she had been born, and had never really had any desire to leave, she had everything he needed here, her family and friends and even her new job worked with her living here, so there had never been any need to leave, unlike a lot of people she knew, but most came back cos they missed it. The only problem with being in such a small town was everyone knew everyone and nothing ever stayed a secret as everyone knew everyone else's business, again another joy of being in a small town.
"I think you would like it if you tried it," he told her.
"I would get homesick and probably come back the next day"
"There's too much to see for that," he told her having enjoyed traveling.
"You should come over later, I'd love to hear all about your adventures'" she invited.
"Sure, I could do with a little break from decorating" he admitted
"Cool...just pop over when you're ready, I'll be in any way, kinda work from home so I'm always in" she admitted
"Sounds good, what do you do?" He asked her genuinely interested
"I'm a writer, I have a book coming out soon if I can finish it in time that is"
"Finally doing something you love" he noted she nodded surprised he'd remembered that.

Walking back over to her flat, she felt very pleased with herself, she couldn't wait to tell Jackson about it when he called later, although she knew he probably wouldn't be surprised. Seeing Tobias again had stirred up a lot of feelings inside of her that hadn't been there for a long time. She found herself hoping Dynamo liked him as her cat was also a very important part of her life now and Tobias would have to accept that too.
