Rome. A street.

Flavius : Hence! home, you idle creatures,
get you home!
Is this a holiday? What! know you not,
Being mechanical, you ought not walk
Upon a laboring day without the sign
Of your profession? __what trade art thou
First Citizen : Why, sir,a carpenter.

Marullus : Where is thy leather apron and thy rule ?

What dost thou with thy best apparel on?___
You, sir; what trade are you?

Julius Caesar ( 100-44 BC) was a great Roman General. He played a major part in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire. Caesar fought in the many military campaigns and brought back great riches ot Roman.

Here is the first scene of the play. In it you will not meet any of the maim character, but you will hear Caesar's name mentioned. The citizens of Roman have stopped their work and gathered in the streets to welcome Caesar back to Rome.
