BAD TO WORSE (Part 1)
Heavy rain was pouring but Kristen walked slowly. The rain was nothing compared to the pain she fell inside. How on earth did this happen to her, she wondered.

Her little girl was in the hospital and it was all her fault. She would give anything to turn back time, anything at all.

She came back from her trip a week early to surprise the two loves of her life - her husband and her daughter but she was the one who ended up being surprised. She had walked into the house with a smile but that didn't last as she heard sobs coming from her daughter's room. Her pace quickened but when she reached the room she froze. How stupid was she, she froze giving the bastard she called husband a few more seconds to toy with her daughter. She couldn't scream and couldn't help shaking, she couldn't think straight. She went to the kitchen and picked up a rolling pin and a knife then made her way back to the room and he was still on top her. She should have just screamed and her baby would be free but she couldn't find her voice. She walked towards him and she hit him with the rolling pin as hard as she could but it wasn't enough.

"What the..." he said as he turned to see who hit him.

His eyes opened wide when he saw Kristen in front of him. She didn't let him recover from the shock before she started hitting him again. She got him four times before he moved away and she went to her daughter's side. She held Marilyn with her left hand which wielded the pin and she held the knife with her right.

"Get... out" she finally said though in a weak voice but Josh didn't move.

"GET OUT."  She said again.

This time shouting as she held the knife tighter. Josh rapidly pulled his pants up and murmured something that sounded like an i'm sorry and left.

Kristen was broken she dropped her weapons and held Marilyn close and they both cried. Marilyn feel asleep before Kristen called an ambulance, she hadn't stopped crying for a second and nothing the doctors said helped her. Her sister was by her side trying to comfort her but the reverse seemed to happened. With the pain she was going through right now she couldn't figure out how to tell Aiden - her ex and the father of Marilyn. She had ended the relationship because he had cheated on her but at the moment that was one of her decision she regretted.

Aiden would never have done this. NEVER. She had full custody of Marilyn but that was only because Aiden allowed it, he felt he had hurt her too much and he wasn't even a worthy dad. He still had visiting rights and he always came to see his baby girl even on days he wasn't supposed to. If only she had told him she was travelling, there was no doubt he come see his little girl everyday and this may not have happened but no she didn't want him making Josh look bad or feel small in front of Marilyn.

The sad thing was that she wasn't the only one paying for her mistakes. Though the rain was heavy it couldn't mask her tears. How could she do this to her daughter, she felt like dying. Jumping off a bridge or walking into the busy road but she couldn't do it, not because she lacked the courage but because Marilyn needed her. Her poor little sweet angel which she condemned to this hell. She screamed as loud as she could but it wasn't louder than a gag as her own tears seemed to suffocate her. She didn't know where she was walking to but she just couldn't stop despite the fact her legs were dying. Why was this happening to her? Why did it have to be her baby? If she was given an opportunity to switch places she wouldn't hesitate even if there were ten more men.

She was finally able to scream and she held nothing back, when she was done, she fell to the ground. She cursed herself and at the moment she hated herself more than she hated Josh as she blamed herself for providing him with the opportunity. She felt stupid, she felt hurt, sad, powerless, betrayed, confused but above all she felt like a failure. She had let her little girl down, she let her get hurt, she was the world's worse mom and there was no excuse.

She picked herself up and turned back, she had to go see her daughter and know how she was doing. She said a short prayer regularly as she walked back. The rain had stopped falling but her heart was still drowning. By the time she reached the hospital, she was already half dry. Her sister Justine sited her and walked up to her. She hugged her and whispered into her ears

"She alright, she was awake a while ago and she's doing okay. She even asked of you".

Kristen almost fell when her sister was done talking but used all her strength to hold herself up. She's okay, she mumbled to herself and tears rolled down her cheeks.

She sat by Marilyn's bed and lightly touched her hair. Her poor baby she thought. Marilyn looked quite relaxed now but the scene Kristen had witnessed earlier plagued her mind and no matter how much she tried, she couldn't shake it off. She looked down at her baby and wondered how she was doing, she was so desperate to wake her up  just to ask how she was feeling but she knew better, Marilyn needed to rest.

Apart from the injuries Marilyn sustained from the intercourse, she also had a popped shoulder, a broken rib and she sustained a hard blow to the back of her head. Poor girl, she tried to put up a fight but it only made things worse. Kristen stroke her hair gently and hoped for the best. She planted a light kiss on Marilyn's head and held her hand tight.

"Mummy's sorry" she said and tears flowed down her cheeks.

She gave Marilyn another kiss and stepped out of the room, she had to call Aiden, she had to tell him what had happened but the question was how, what was she going to say. Nonetheless she had to and although she wasn't prepared for what he was going to say, she felt like she deserved it
