Copacabana p3
A little shaken but still in one piece I made my way back to the table. Lola had taken the liberty of ordering me a drink and herself. Pulling out a chair to sit back down Lola smiled at me.

"Don't worry about the gorilla he is I will make sure you are ok."

It took me a minute to understand what she was meaning. Turning I could clearly see the door to the men's room.

"Oh, that was nothing."

"Yeah right. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, It was common knowledge that I was sleeping with the boss. Every night before I went on he would remind me with a kiss and the words they can look but not touch. At the end of every day, you are mine."

I was shocked that a man would be ok with his girlfriend being groped at by others. Especially back then and that Lola was so free or admit that was how it was. She almost looked proud.

"I walked out on to the stage arms stretched out slowly showing off as much leg as possible like this."

Lola stood up and demonstrated. She held out her arms with her hands set at different angles one slightly raised one down. She pointed her toes with every step her legs still had a nice shape just needed a shave and twenty years knocking off them. If this dress would have been new she would have been a fantastic site. Quickly she slumped back in her chair gasping for air.

"It didn't use to be that hard. There is nothing to be said about getting old. I got to the front of the stage and there he was. The most beautiful man I have ever seen. his hair was slicked back like the most fashionable men did back then. His suit was obviously hand made. Sat down I could tell that if he stood up he would be over six feet tall. He had a cigarette between his fingers and I was frozen on stage. My mind had gone blank. It didn't matter I was looking at living art. He saw that I was looking at him and he just winked at me. I knew then what I had with Tony was a lie. It wasn't a relationship it was an ownership. I was back in my body and the music moved me I danced and sang my heart out. Tony saw my little blip in concentration and his face was a mask of rage."

I was not the edge of my seat listening to every word Lola said. I was transported back in time and this run down club could be seen in its former glory. Lola tossed her drink to the back of her throat and stood up.

"I need the bathroom now. get the drinks in for when I get back."
