The Sky Party
The Sky Party

I had a dream, which was not all a dream yet it was a dream, maybe it wasn’t a dream. The bright sun was extinguished at daybreak before it could spread its ray of light upon this blue rock and the stars did begin to wander in the eternal space of the dark skies above us.

Morning came and went yet she brought no day along with her, the earth was blind and drifted of course into a pathless way towards the edge of the galaxy. Everywhere people began searching for the sun and her light for there was no more day only night and darkness.

Questions and complains were asked and thrown into the motionless air with no answers each day, and then thereafter all men went to sleep for nothing could be done.
“DING DONG, DING DONG, DING DONG!! " Screamed the evil alarm clock as it rang again and again with a grin smile on its sinister face of wood.

“What’s the use of waking up at midnight anymore, when there’s no morning nor sunlight no more”, I murmured softly, as I sat at d edge of my bed, suddenly I could hear the buzz of excitement, melody and car horns coming from up above, looking through the curtains of trees and clouds that block my view, and I saw...

I saw the night sky all cramped up with traffic jam everywhere as far as my eyes could see. All I could see were stars riding upon a vehicle of clouds, racing towards a ball of gases and they were pretty dressed up in colorful suits and gowns looking all set to go partying. Each of them held with them little torches that were burning brightly like the sun itself disintegrated into infinitesimal pieces as an entry pass.

There upon the cheek of the moon was the venue for this grand majestic party and hanging around her neck was a necklace with the true beauty and brilliance of the sun. The sky looked as happy as a lady in her wedding dress standing before a mirror. But as it all turns out to be, the real truth as to why the sun no more rose to shine was revealed to me by a drunken fat star and this is it, the sky holds a grand party at every full moon and only the brightest stars were invited.

A group of maltreated dim stars came together and stole some seed of sunlight and that single event led to the revolt from other not so bright stars, who in turns began stealing the suns light for their own brightness so as to be able to attend the grandest party where all that is done is merrying, cheering and feasting.

So that was what led to the absence of day from our lives. When I woke up I told everyone what I saw and nobody believed me, and I know you also too might not believe me but I think it is very real in my dreams and mine alone, unless you believe it too to be another dream...
The End….
