Chapter 4 - Struck Gold.

The voices of the settlement protectors echo when they speak in the cave. Lon alongside the others are walking deeper into the entrance of the cave. Manc alongside Hester are holding a piece of wood that is a blaze, an orange glow on the cave walls. Lon steps over some rocks as Cambs stops to pick them up, placing them into the wheel barrow, Birms has gotten the other one. Liver alongside Lee are carrying the pickaxes. They are going further in the cave, walking through hollowed out stone tunnels with water dripping, until they come to a circular opening with tunnels split in to four different paths.

Lon's echoing voice asking “Which one should we take lads?"

Cambs responds "We should just take the first one, see what is down there."

Lon responds asking "Agree lads?"

Manc responds "Don't mind, as long as there is something that helps us build the settlement some more."

They all start walking through the first one. While Cambs also Birms picking up rocks putting them into the barrow. As they go deeper in the cave, specs of shiny yellow dots mixed in with the cave walls, a bit further down is a yellow vein.

Cambs says "You see that, we should pick axe that, maybe we can use it for the settlement."

Cambs is inspecting the yellow dots while rubbing his fingers over it.

Lon responds saying "I believe that is gold."

Lee alongside Liver start pickaxing the walls until parts start crumbling to the ground as it comes off in chunks. While the others are picking it up, they fill up both barrow’s, then decide it is time to go back to the settlement, they will send others to come back to explore the rest of the cave later along with get the gold ore.

Manc alongside Hester are scraping the flaming wooden torches across the walls of the caves entrance, flakes of ash are spiralling off, getting caught in the wind while pieces burning wood fall to the muddy ground, Manc stamps on his for full extinguishing, Hester dunks his torch in a puddle made by the dripping rain water. The other settlement protectors follow Manc alongside Hester out of the caves entrance. One wheelbarrow with just gold ore piled like a pyramid, while the other filled with both rocks also some gold ore. The wheelbarrow wooden tires rolls through the puddle followed by a splash made by the boot that belongs to Cambs.

The brightness of the sun causing the settlement protectors to squint, their eyes having to adjust. Six Sky Glider come down from the sky, a spit fire divides the group of settlement protectors. The wheelbarrows are left as the settlement protectors get their weapons out to fight these fire creatures. One is swinging its razor-sharp wings towards Liver that is dodging them, as he ducks while the wing swooshes over his head, he comes up with an uppercut sticking the pickaxe's spike up through the chin of the Sky Glider, blood is leaking down onto the Pickaxe's cold iron spike. As the Sky Gliders takes flight Liver yanks the pickaxe out, blood sprinkling out from the ascending Sky Gliders chin. While Manc is running towards a Sky Glider that is on top of his brother Hester. Manc two foots the Sky Glider to the side of its body causing it to roll across the ground, Cambs runs past, stabbing the rolling Sky Glider through its head. As three Sky Gliders start surrounding Lon, Cambs is running towards them from behind. An arrow either side of Cambs head swooshes through the air past him, one of them hitting the first Sky Glider in the back of the head, dropping the creature to the ground, the other two of them are swinging their wings at Lon, that keeps backing up while avoiding decapitation, the other arrow finding its home in the side of the end Sky Gliders head, not instantly killing the Sky Glider. Lon is dodging the middle wings of the Sky Gliders as his sword is ripping through his wings. Cambs swords slices the creatures back in an upwards motion, Cambs chops through its neck, dropping it to the floor its head rolls off. As Cambs turns inwards sticking his sword through the mid-section of the end Sky Glider, at the same time Lon puts his sword through the creatures throat. Their swords ripping upwards, splitting the Sky Glider in half, insides spilling out onto the green grass as their lifeless bodies slump to the ground, sideways, when they think it is all over they are safe to go back to the settlement.

A pack of Primates come running out from the forest, a Sea Dweller from both sides approaching the settlement protectors. The Sky Glider with the puncture hole in his chinis spiralling out of control in the background, sending spitfires out which are exploding on impact as the creature is descending through the air, until it crashes into the side of the cave. A Sky Glider is flying past, seeing his fallen comrades sends a spit fire towards Birms, as he dodges it the spit fire, the ball of flames clips his sword tossing it out from his hand. The Sky Glider landing on the ground, approaching Birms which is walking backwards, not looking where he is going, stepping back onto one of the wheel barrows they both tumble over, the Sky Glider jumps in to the air, ready to rip Birms to shreds, a sledgehammer flying, exploding through the Sky Gliders head on impact, as it was in mid-flight about to rip Birms to shreds, pieces of the Sky Gliders head exploding everywhere, its body thumps the earths dirt. Birms standing up, he is looking around to see Phil saluting him with two fingers, with the other he is taking his sword out. Phil is running up to a Primate, slicing upwards splitting it in two. While Archie sends an arrow towards a Sea Dweller, a scale absorbs the arrow, as it flies out from the scale on its tail, hitting a Primate that was running towards Hester now the creature is rolling across the ground. A Primate’s tail opens as it is face to face with a Sea Dweller, bone darts shoot out from the tail, piercing through the leathery skin of the Sea Dweller. A Projectile vomit of Ice just misses the Primate as it dodges it. The tail latches onto one of the stumpy legs of the Sea Dweller, ripping it from its joint, blood starts spurting out, parts of the Ulna also Humerus radius hanging from the ripped hole another Primate joins in shooting bone dart at the legless Sea Dweller they stick in to the creature’s flesh, the other Primates tail latches on again to the other leg, pulling the Sea Dwellers leg out of its socket, hanging bits of flesh with ligaments, the Sea Dweller dropping to the floor as other Primates jump on top, they start ripping through the flesh of the Sea Dweller, an arrow pings one of the primates off the deceased Sea Dweller, the other two Primates look up, seeing Archie re-loading his bow with an arrow, they start running towards Archie. The Primates jump in the air before he can aim his bow Lon shoulder barges Archie out the way while he swings his sword that slices through one of the Primates torso. As the other one lands behind Lon, it turns while opening its tail, before the tail can penetrate one of Lon's limbs, an arrow from Archie's bow pierces in the Primates head. Lon turns push kicking the once alive Primate away. A Sea Dweller is walking slowly towards the Settlement protectors as it sends a projectile vomit of ice towards Manc that is standing alongside Hester, but they move out the way, its tail swiping viciously side to side, so none of the others approach to close. An arrow surges forward towards the Sea Dweller, the scale absorbs it then flies out of another scale nearly hitting Lee. Another projectile vomit of ice sprays out from the Sea Dweller's mouth. Nearly hitting the Settlement protectors, it starts running towards Archie, he manages to pull his bow back to let the arrow fly before the Sea Dweller can do him damage, the arrow hitting the head of the Sea Dweller. Then a finishing blow from the sledge hammer on top of the arrow pushing it in further. The arrow tip poking out from the back of the Sea Dwellers head. Droplets of blood dripping off from the tip of the arrow, the Sea Dweller slumping to the floor.

Lon says, "Lads, quickly get everything we can use, then we can piss off back to the Settlement."

Birms says "Going to have to get George to make me another sword."

As he picks up both pieces of his burnt sword, Phil is putting the rocks along with the gold ore back into the wheel barrows.

Cambs responds saying "Bring it back to the settlement because George can re-use or somehow fix the sword bro."

Birms responds saying "Will do, Phil thank you brother.”

Phil responds, “You would do the same for me brother.”

As the settlement protectors are collecting what they can use.

A loud sound of an aircraft engine fills the silence, the settlement protectors are looking around wondering what is making that noise, the first time them hearing such a sound. A gold with a moving mist engulfing through the Airplane's shell, it is declining out of the sky as it starts to nose dive towards the ground. It starts to pull up, but it is too late, crashing somewhere in the distance behind the caves entrance, where the settlement protectors are standing.

Lon asks "What the fuck was that!?"

Manc responds "It certainly wasn't a bird."

Cambs says "We should go there before one of the other settlements get there."

Lon responds asking "Yes we should, Birms also Phil, can you take the Wheel barrows back to the settlement? Also take as much of the creatures you can back with you."

Phil responds saying "Alright bro."

Phil then turns to Birms saying "We should put the creatures over the wheel barrows." Birms responds asking "Who is going to take the Sledge hammer?"

Phil responds, "You can, I have my sword."

Birms nods in response as they start to gather as much as they can.

The other settlement protectors are planning on what route they should take. While Phil alongside Birms are lifting the place a deceased Sky Glider's corpse on top of the rocks also ore that are in the wheel barrows that Phil also Birms have put back in the wheel barrows.

Lon says, "We should go through the forest, it crashed somewhere over the cave."

The settlement protectors nod in response.

The settlement protectors start to walk through the forest, Archie looks behind him as Phil alongside Birms are walking the opposite way, to take the wheel barrows back to the settlement. A Sky Glider perched up high on a thick tree branch, spotting the humans, he glides down about to land behind Phil also Birms. Archie loads his bow with an arrow, pulling back to let the arrow fly. It penetrates through the back of the Sky Gliders head, poking out the other side. They both look back to see the creature falling lifelessly to the floor, after they spot Archie between two trees he salutes them, after carries on walking to catch up with the settlement protectors.

Cambs says "Lads be careful of the Primates or the Sky Gliders, eyes everywhere."

Lee responds saying, "Sea Dwellers don't really go in the forest."

Lon responds, "Not unless they want to die."

They are walking around the trees with some thorn bushes that are around.

Archie says, "We will need to come back here because I need more arrows at some point."

Manc responds saying "Maybe tomorrow we can come bro."

Walking through a clearing in the forest a grass field greets them, with a massive volcano that is next to the Euro settlement in the distance. Twigs snapping under their boots, a herd of mammoths are walking to their left, on their right is rocky plain. They start walking towards there, in the grass is burning debris from the aeroplane, bits of wing also the propeller scattered around. They are following the trail of debris, walking around the corner of the forest’s edge. The plane has nose-dived into the rocky plain the settlement protectors approach the aeroplane, that has flickering flames coming from the front, smashed in front window.

A white door falls forward opening, a man with a few people behind him emerge from the doorway. The man is wearing armour that has different kind of gasses moving around the armour, it changes to a gust of wind moving around the armour. A mini tornado has formed in his armour that is moving around. He has blond hair with brown eyes, a bushy beard, stocky built.

He says while asking "My name be Neon, my people also myself do not want to cause you no harm, we have crashed our spaceship in your earth, can you take us to your place of living?”

Lon responds, "Yes we can, as long as you along with your people can help with building our settlement."

Neon responds saying "Of course we will be happy to help in providing for our up keep."

Lon nods then responds, "Okay you lot can come with us."

Cambs asks "Have you got one of them armours, we can have?"

Neon responds saying “Yes I can give you a set, we will sort it out later.”

Neon then turns to a man behind him, saying “Get everything we are going to need.”

Neon walks down the ramp towards the settlement protectors, shaking their hands.

Cambs walks over to George, that is talking to Birms, while he is taking a sword out from its moulding case.

Cambs says "Brother, I have another one of them armours."

George responds asking, "Was it from the thing that flew above us earlier?”

He starts to sharpen the sword on the grindstone, that he will give to Birms, the broken sword is on George's worktop.

Cambs responds saying "Yes, it is from them."

Cambs puts the armour on the worktop, while sparks are flying from swords edge.

Birms asks "Can you re-use the broken sword?”

George responds saying, "Yes of course but I am not sure what I can use the gold ore for."

Cambs responds saying "You will have to melt it down, I am sure there is something you will be able to use it for."

"Yeah there will be something." George responds.

George puts the last couple of finishing touches to the sword, after he passes the sharp sword to Birms.

Cambs says "I will leave the armour with you."

George responds "Okay brother, I will see you later."

Cambs walks away.

Cambs is walking towards the bonfire, Ports is standing with Lon, they are talking.

Lon asks Ports "Has Stoner along with his people been helping today?"

Ports responds saying "Yes they have brother, he has helped the builders with finishing the new homes, also they went out of the settlement for a little bit, they brought back some rocks for Phil to finish the path, their blacksmith has been working with George all day also we have been learning about farming to get vegetables."

Lon responds asking "The new homes are finished?"

Ports responds "Yes they are now, the settlements people can move into them."

Lon responds saying "Okay, that's good bro the protectors can move in to the new homes, then Stoner with his people, also Neon with his people can stay in the protector’s compound."

Ports responds saying "I agree with you brother."

Lon Responds saying "Okay, we can sort that out tomorrow, I can talk to the builder, see who is going where."

Ports nods to him.

Coven is walking over saying "These people better help build this settlement."

Lon responds, "They will help, Neon gave us one of their armours."

Coven responds saying "Yeah I see that when I was walking past George's workshop."

Ports asks, "What the plan now lads."

Coven responds, "Not sure, some rest I think is needed."

Cambs responds “I Agree with that.”

Ports puts a Skewer with meat also chunks of the Sea Dweller in the fire of the bonfire.
