The Road to Grace Part 3
"Are you positive we're allowed to be here? Can't we get in trouble?"
"Technically we're trespassing but no one's ever here. The small chance of getting caught should help with not being bored."
Kelsey nodded, though Shawn could see the worry in her bright blue eyes.
He got out of the driver seat and by the time he limped halfway around the car Kelsey had met him, her eyes darting in all directions as if she would see blue lights at any moment.
"Ready?" Asked Shawn.
"Yeah... hopefully this place doesn't cave in on us it doesn't look very well... maintained."
"What are you really worried about? Scared of the dark?"
"No! I'm just saying...how would you explain my death to my mom."
"Hush and come on Miss priss I've been here a dozen times everything will be fine."
Taking a deep breath as if she was about to dive in the deep end for the first time, she nodded and followed behind Shawn.
"This place used to be open a few years ago not really sure why they shut it down to the public but I enjoy the peace and solitude."
"So...this is your thing? Trespassing on closed down buildings?"
Shawn glanced back at her with a sideways grin, "Sometimes...more exciting than key club I promise that."
His heart thudded at her high pitched childish giggle. He didn't care why she agreed to run off with him spontaneously, he was enjoying the company of someone who wasn't looking for a paid high.
They crossed a small wooden foot bridge and the big white washed round buildings loomed closer into view under the chilly November sky.
Once they approached the middle round building...
