Part 2
At the gas station, nobody seemed to have any information about the fire. I hurried back towards the house but I continued down the road to the R.V. park across the street where my mom and her boyfriend lived. I pounded on her door frantically til I finally heard movement and a sleepy voice grumbling " Who is it?" I explained the situation and told them to evacuate immediately. I yelled "I love you" as I rushed to her neighbors to make sure the elderly man nextdoor was awake. I quickly explained what was going on and started to rush back to the house. As I passed back by my moms I was informed that she was getting a ride from a friend so it set my mind at ease for the time being as I raced back across the street. The traffic was fairly steady but was still moving. The power went out as I gathered what few possessions I had with me and loaded them into my friends vehicle that he had managed to get running while I was across the street. Neither of us had a vehicle but we knew we had to get out of there. I had this gut feeling as we pulled out of the driveway that I should have gone to my moms before leaving but we had already pulled onto the main road and the traffic was bumper to bumper but moving slowly. Our gas tank was on E and there was only 3 gas stations before leaving town.
