The Murderous Mirror Pt.16
Ben

6:55 pm - “Ben you're home”
When she reached for his face he backed up immediately like a kitten getting pet by a stranger.
¨What are you doing mother?¨ he screeched.
“What do you mean? You're the one who didn't tell me where you were going! And then this morning Luna's mom called me asking if Luna was here and she wasnt and neither were you! So where were you?”
“Do you remember last night when you tried to make me eat roadkill?”

[Narrator]

You may be wondering where Luna is. I will tell you if you promise not to judge her too much. Okay now with that out of the way. Luna was in the room watching with eager eyes. Wondering what was going to happen next. And for some reason she kept thinking Ben's mom was going to slap him even though she's never been violent, just troubled.

Ben

7:15 pm - “Actually I don’t”
“Yeah sure you don’t” His voice once again sounded like a sad puppy that was lost looking for attention.
“Ben i’m telling the truth”
“Ben I believe her, many weird things have been going on these past couple of days” Luna butted in
“Ok then” And the fear in his eyes dissolved. His shoulders lowered and he relaxed.
“Can I hug you now”
And Ben said yes because in the end he wanted his mother back.
“Luna you too”
She was more reluctant to leave her position of watching. But eventually after some begging she joined the tornado of emotions in the middle of the room.

8:50 pm - *ring* *ring*
“I’ll get the door” Ben offered.
“No I got it sit down with Luna and keep chatting”
When she left to get the door they both stopped speaking. It was silent and the only noise was coming from the doorway. The doorway was barely visible from the couch. But Ben could see the lady that was standing there. It was the same lady that was talking to Luna's doctor earlier this morning.
“Good-bye now” they heard her say.
“What was that about?” Asking curiously.
“Hey Ben, can you go get the aspirin from the upstairs cabinet? I’ll tell you when you come back down”
Ben rushed up the stairs. Skipping every other step on his way up. When he made it to the bathroom he searched through the medicine cabinet behind the mirror and could not see the aspirin. He walked out of the bathroom and turned off the lights and then had a compulsion to go back and check the mirror. And whatever was in the mirror had disappeared before he got there and made the mirror turn to a black charred crisp almost like melted plastic in a violet fire.
He then tried to inspect the mirror further but before he could he heard a scream coming from downstairs in the living room.

9:10 pm - Ben ran down the stairs almost missing the last five steps.
9:11 pm - He saw Luna on the ground with a red bruise above her eye starting to form. While his mother was standing next to her feet like it had just happened. Ben rushed to the floor to help Luna up.
9:15 pm - “Mom! What are you doing!” Luna was now leaning against Ben's arm using his shoulder as a crutch.
“Your “mom” is not here” she said with finality
The women in the living room became a stranger again and Ben could no longer stand to look at this unapologetic aggressive human anymore.
“Good-bye” No other words were said. Ben now jumped into the abyss with Luna and they didn't know where they were going; they just had to get away from the craziness of what was going on.

11:30 pm - They finally came to a stop. And when they did it was in front of the restaurant. The same one Ben had seen before. When they walked inside the little gold bell on top of the door rang and there was already a sleeping area set up on one of the booths in the corner. The table had previously been ripped out and there were pink fuzzy blankets with zebra striped black and green pillows laying atop of it. They had both come to the realization that Annabelle had been staying there before the car accident after finding a couple of her belongings. They found a couple more blankets in the kitchen. After gathering all the blankets and pillows they made a bed on the floor. And tried their best to go to sleep.
