ENCOUNTER WITH EVA
The kids went rather swiftly since it was snowing heavily. I realized that it was getting late, so I sped as fast as I could and my mind was so lost in thoughts that I almost dashed into a tree. I reached Shelly’s house safely but I was for sure late.
Shelly was surprised to see me coming in so late. I explained to her about the Primewood kids' invitation and how hard it was to walk when it snowed at night. She grinned at me, “Well, I would love to go to the Primewood Gardens with you tomorrow, but I have a nasty cold.” I and she chatted for nearly for an hour and then she went inside the kitchen. She came back with a freshly baked chocolate cake, “I don’t think I can make it to the Christmas program so present them this cake on my behalf.” I told her that I would be glad to do so.
She carefully giftwrapped the cake in a box and handed it to me. I waved Shelly goodbye. I had to walk home in that biting cold. I was just about to get on the street when Shelly called me and told me that I could use her bike which was in the garage at the back of her house. She gave the keys to her bike. I, at first, hesitated but then I agreed to use her bike...
