Unforgettable Memories
Mr. and Mrs. Malhotra lived in dhanaulti, a small town in uttarakhand. They were an old married couple who have successfully spent 39 years of togetherness. Mr. Malhotra was in his 70s and suffered from middle stage alzheimer's. Mrs Malhotra, looked after him as if he was a child because a middle stage Alzheimer's makes a patient moody, childish and experience severe dementia ( forgetfulness) that could last for years.
They had a son and a daughter, both of them lived abroad and had no time for their parents. Every month they used to send them money for their daily expenditures.
Today, it was Mr. And Mrs. Malhotras 40th anniversary but mrs. Malhotra Never thought of celebrating it, because of her husband's condition and she knew nobody remember it. As usual mrs malhotra was preparing breakfast for her and her husband, as a part of a daily routine. She took the breakfast tray with pills to the bedroom where Mr malhotra was relaxing.
As soon as she entered the bedroom she was shocked, Mr Malhotra was missing. She got scared and looked for him everywhere, he could possibly be. She called her neighbours for help, everyone started looking for him. She was worried to think that mr, malhotra does't even remember his address and if he has gone somewhere he won't be able to return.
Mrs malhotra was terrified with this thought, all of a sudden she felt some one approaching her and she turned back she was stunned, she could't believe her eyes..
She saw, Mr malhotra stood in front of her with a precious smile holding a bucket of red roses and a cake and wore the same shirt which he wore 40 years ago, when he proposed her. He looked at her and said " happy anniversary dear" i went to buy this bucket of roses and cake for you. This left mrs malhotra speechless, she had tears in her eyes and all she could do is to hug him tightly and wish him a long life... neighbours after witnessing this incident they started clapping and enjoyed the moment with them.
They celebrated, enjoyed and lived happily.....
