The car sped through the dark night, it's headlights flashing, warning the incoming traffic. The car stopped by the emergency room parking area. Tom ran inside to the reception desk and in a desperate voice, pleaded " please! help! help! my Grandpa is sick, can't breathe" he's in the car" hurry please, yes,! of course". It was around 3:45 am when
medical personnel walked outside and immediately carried the old man inside, while, Tom waited nervously sitting in the waiting area in front of a television. At around 5:37am, suddenly, the door opens and a nurse explains, the old man will be fine. On the way back home Tom said to the old man Grandpa" don't die on me". I love you Grandpa" He looked at Tom and the old man said, Son" everything will be alright" you see Tom" we all die at some time" it's only natural" we get one chance to live life either a good life or the wrong life. We have choices" we have choices Tom!" Grandpa looked at Tom in the eye and said "in my case son, as along as can I remember, I've conducted my life with decency, honesty, respect, and responsibility "Now, I feel my journey will come to an end soon". I am old and tired" tears flowing down his wrinkled face, the old man continued. "There, in the emergency room, I asked God to give me one more day of life, because I will not ever get to see you ever again,"just to say goodbye for the last time". "You see, Tom" I had made some plans for next year, but, I never thought about the day my time was up." Tom I had to get out of the hospital just for today , just for today Tom"! As long as can remember, my father never told me, the only words a son or a daughter need to hear often from a parent "I love you Son!" I love you my beautiful daughter!" indeed, magical words that derive from the heart and that if spoken often, will accompany a person in the long journey of life with a warm heart for others ; because words that originate from our hearts are never forgotten and will make our world a happy peaceful world."
