FOR OR AGAINST YOUR PEOPLE (CHAPTER 4)
They arrived at the village of Nframabo and it was still the same as old. Nathaniel decided to take a walk around  the village and saw that nothing has changed. The only change that was seen was the ageing of people but their way of life was the same as before.

As he continued his walk, he saw a woman afar. He got closer and discovered it was his mum. He did not know to control his emotions, thus he went back to Rev.Wilson telling him he has seen his mum. He replied saying, "I'm so happy for you son. I'd try and make arrangements so that you can go and see your mum," and hugged him.

The sun arose the next morning with the sky bringing forth partly clouds, alongside with birds singing with their melodious voices. The cocks serving as the alarm clocks for sleepy heads. Nathaniel woke up full of excitement because he is going to see his mum that day.

Rev. Wilson and Nathaniel journeyed  across the village to search for Nathaniel's mum. They went to her home, knocked and waited patiently to be attended to. Aba Serwaa(Nathaniel's mother) opened and welcome them as tho she knew them. Yet she saw familiarity on the face of Nathaniel.

She came and served them a cup of water and gave them a seat(They usually used a stool those days). She attended to them and said to Nathaniel," You look like my long gone son. He has gone to rest with his ancestors, alongside his father." Nathaniel answered,"Umm...Your son isn't dead, he's the one sitting in front of you speaking."

Aba was about to pass out and said,"No..no..no this cannot be true. You can look like him but that doesn't mean you're him." He took the necklace he was wearing containing cowries and showed it to her. He said,"This is what you gave to me on the last day my foot stepped in this house." She cried joyfully and said,"My son, Nana Kwame. It's you." And hugged him and kissed him on the forehead.

She said,"I thought you were dead, what happened." Nathaniel then began to narrate what happened to him after he run away and how he was shot and almost died. He also told her how Rev.Wilson took care of him till now. She went on to thank Rev.Wilson in her Local dialect, for she did not know how to speak English.

Nathaniel asked for his whereabouts of his dad and she said,"Unfortunately, he passed on the day he heard you died." Nathaniel broke down and cried bitterly throwing dust into the air. He vehemently cursed the people who brought the fake news to the village that he died. Nathaniel decided to stay with his mum for a few days since he could not be comforted upon the news.

Rev. Wilson went his way preaching and converting people to Christianity. He was able to convert about one-fourth of  the village to Christianity and also casted out evil spirits from people. The news got to the king Ohene Osei Asiedu (I) that there's a foreigner who is converting people away from our religion. This angered the the king and gave an order to arrest all those involved in that act.

They came to the place where the Christians gather to worship. They arrested Rev. Wilson and Nathaniel and left the members. They sent them straight to the Palace to be tried on. In anger the King raised his voice and said,"So tell me, what is your so called religion about." Rev.Wilson replied,"I have nothing to say to you, but what I'd say is not of my own accord." Not understanding what he said they thought he spoke rude and there gave him a slap on the face. They said,"Look at this foreigner. Is that how to speak to the King?" Nathaniel reacted, trying to go and attack the elder. Suddenly a soldier acted and gave him a punch on the face.

Rev.Wilson began to preach to them for a long while. After he was done the King said,"Do you think you can convert me to your so called religion...let me say. You have angered me the highest because what we worship has more power than yours......Nkansah! Send him to the place of death and behead both of them."

They were sent to the place of death, just to be beheaded in the midst of people in the village. The King came out and said,"Anyone who would follow this new nonsense culture will end up being like this. This should be a lesson to all." Nathaniel's mum crying, this time she was going to see her own son die in front of her own eyes. Rev.Wilson was brought first and was beheaded in front of the village folks. Nathaniel cried in anger and bitterness, his mum shouting on top of her voice,"Oh no, how many deaths will I see now."

Nathaniel was brought next. In bitterness, pain and anger of past and present he pushed away the soldiers around him. It seemed like history was repeating itself, he remembered the soldiers running after him as he was departing from death. It to be a deja vu to him. As Nathaniel began to run he slipped and fell. The soldiers got hold of him and began beating him up. The leader of the soldiers told them to halt because he recognised who Nathaniel is.

He said,"This is Nathaniel, the guy who escaped when we tried to send him back to the village. They tried to kill him immediately so that no one will know that Nana Kwame is back. Nathaniel got back on his feet as brave as a lion and as wild as a bear. He gave them the beating of their lives and they fainted as if they were dead men. He picked up their guns and shot them all and went his way.

He got home and cried bitterly to Mrs. Diana with remorse and sorrow. He said to her,"Rev.Wilson has kicked the bucket." In silence she cried and in her tears she tried to comfort Nathaniel. Nathaniel constantly blamed himself for Wilson's death and felt he was a burden to everyone else. He said,"because of me my dad is gone, my mum was in sorrow for years, a man who has been good to me has been killed because of me. I should have just died in my mum's womb." In the state of being depressed, he locked himself in the room for three days.

This kept Mrs. Diana really worried. He later opened the door for her to come in. She said to Nathaniel,"Son listen, it hurts me very much to see my husband leave this world. Everything happens for our good even if it'll presently hurt us. Listen you're not a burden to anyone. You've been called for a purpose and that is to set people free and enlighten them. All things things are happening because they are leading you to what you've been called into. Take heart and believe son."

He hugged her and said,"Thank you for your encouraging word. I'm happy to have found a second mother like you."
