Embracing Goodness!⭐⭐🌺
🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Do our actions have soothing and balming effect on the lives of needy people around? Are we really giving back to the society? Are we playing a positive role for the betterment of community?
If yes, then congratulations! You are a responsible citizen, rather a divine soul. If not, its time to introspect and act productively.

For the last 20 years, I have been observing Mr. Abdul Gani, a tailor and a social worker from Chamba, who visits general ward of the district hospital twice everyday. What does he do there? Simple. Many patients and their attendents come from far flung hilly area and they don’t have anyone to talk with. He talks to them and listens to their problems patiently. Sometimes, distributes bananas too. At times, contacts with medical authorities to resolve the genuine problems of the admitted patients. In his own way, he comforts the souls in need.

In Shimla, I have noticed an old lady coming with large plastic bowls. Whether it’s a rainy day or snowing heavily, she is never absent. She sweetly whistles to attract the stray dogs and serves them bread slices and milk.

A Sikh man everyday serves free meals to the patients in the Government Medical College and Hospital, Shimla without much ado.
Every evening, students from the Himachal Pradesh University visit the slum area of Shimla and teach children of migratory labourers free of cost.

My colleague everyday feeds grains to the flock of pigeons.
Why am I giving such examples and references? Because I firmly believe that despite changing mentality and ever growing self-centredness, goodness prevails. Good Samaritans are always in action without expecting anything in return.

Such acts of kindness indicate that there is every relevance of Hug Day! A pat, a word of consolation or a friendly hug to a person in agony does wonders! After all, what matters is a smile on someone’s face and what matters most is —you are the reason behind that smile!
