Trip to Gir
On 27th Dec 2018

Off to Gir sanctuary. We booked the cab Tavera for the day.
The morning after breakfast, we left for Gir and the journey was for an hour from Balkeshwar resort, Somnath.
Roads were smooth and on top of this, music of the 90's made the journey shortened. While going, we noticed full of Mango gardens roadside. Cab guy Gopal Bhai said immediately that Gir Mango is famous in Gujarat n it's very much delicious. I was mesmerized to see the quantum of Mango trees. Mango trees were loaded with huge Majar n this is an early indicator of probable quantity. It's a bit early as compared to the North or east areas of India.
2nd unique thing I noticed is that size of the cow is a bit taller and stronger than the usual desi cow. In fact, at first go, it looks like OX.
A trip inside Gir devaliya park was not up to the expectation. It was for a very short time and I can say, it's a bigger version of Zoo. We saw a leopard, Lioness n deer inside and they were behaving like prisoners with less movement feeling bored, and they gave "no interest look in life ". At that time, we started bad-mouthing and recommended one of the family, not to go for.
Then moved to the restaurant for lunch as per the previous day's plan. The place was quite interesting and we had homemade food. Another add-on thing was that they have left many khatiya in the open area to make customers lie down if they want. We took full advantage of it n had a gala time there.

After lunch, we moved towards the next destination Jamwala jhanjhir. No traffic, once again smooth ride and I felt as if I am on cloud nine.
Jamwala gir goan - we had desi tea n peda, lip-smacking delicious taste.
Jamwala jhanjhir- I took the bath there. The water was too cold but I enjoyed it thoroughly . However, the water was very sweet n cold n even I tasted it during the bath. we saw the high voltage waterfall which brought a turnaround in our mood.
We spoke in length with the cab driver about crop cultivation, done by the people who reside here.
Farmer's are not dependent on one or two crops but mainly they do the cultivation of sugarcane, cotton. We saw crops of bajra, wheat, pulses, onion.

I plan to visit once again.
