A breath of relief escaped Eveline's lips as her and Theodore were finally safe in the tower's room. Count Wilbur had saved them both from the danger.

"Theodore!" sobbed Eveline as she ferociously hugged him.

"Eveline!" Theodore exclaimed as he equally returned her embrace with a fervent ardor. They both wept and kissed each other in joy and bliss.

"I thought you were going to die." Eveline whispered tenderly to Theodore, as she lovingly caressed his face.

"I would never leave you. I'll always be by your side." Theodore mumbled to her, encompassing his arms around her, and stroking her hair softly.

Count Wilbur stood looking at them, anger and jealously heating up his blood.
