Ethan's face turned to me at the sound of my voice and he extended his little arms towards me and said," Mamma"
He was badly crying and wiggling in his father's hold. I looked at his father for his permission and he nodded at me.
I quickly took Ethan in my arms and his arms made a tight hold against my neck.
I started patting my hand on his back to calm him down and motioned his father to come inside.
After some time, Ethan fell asleep in my arms and i took him to my room and tucked him in my bed.
I went downstairs and found his father looking at a photo of my family.
"You were really cute back then " His father said not turning around.
"Thanks" I whispered feeling quite uneasy.
An awkward silence passed between us and when I couldn't hold anymore I finally asked
" How did you came to know where i lived?" I curiously asked.
" I have my ways" He said.
"I think I need to know why you and Ethan are here and how." I said.
He finally turned around and his eyes met mine. His eyes were just like his personality. BLACK.
He came towards me without breaking the eye contact and
said, " Look I know it is a bit confusing but my son thinks of you as his mother. He won't stop crying after you left the store."
I couldn't say anything. It was shock for me but somewhere inside my heart his words left a warm feeling which I couldn't understand.
" Why didn't you tell his mother?She might have helped" I asked him.
" His mother left him" He said the words like it was no big thing but somehow i could see the anger and sadness in his eyes.
" I am sorry" I whispered quietly.
" She never wanted to give birth to him, so she gave me all parental rights and went on her way." He turned towards the photo again.
My heart was aching for both him and his son , so i did what i thought was best.
I put my hand on his shoulder and turned him towards me and with full honesty i said, " I know it must have been difficult. Raising a kid on your own without any help is really hard and tiring. I know you have learnt how to guard your emotions but its really not necessary. I am ready to help your son in any way possible. Trust me."
He just looked at me and smiled. He softly said " you are something else " but i still heard it.
" I think I have not introduced myself properly. I am Ansel King ." He held out his hand for me to shake.
" Hazel Dawson " I whispered and took his hands, immediately feeling the rush of electricity passing my arm.
Little did I know that my life was going to change after entry of Ethan and his father in my life.
