SHOW GLASS
#WritcoStoryPrompt5

The silver necklace in Collins' hand looked familiar. I thought I saw it on someone. Oh! now I remember the owner of the necklace, Felicia the peacock.

Daré was her ex -husband and if my memory serves me right, They got divorced two years ago. Felicia remarried to Collins last year but she was murdered last night.

"I must be hallucinating, I should quit gossiping before it ruins me." Cynthia laughed.

"I lived next door to Felicia and suffered insomnia as a result of recurrent quarrels between her and Daré but I'm amazed at their public display of affection in the neighbourhood after their heated argument every night."

After their divorce, Felicia held unto a silver necklace . It was her wedding gift from Daré . She flaunts it at any slightest opportunity to spite single mothers like me living in the neighbourhood.

I overhead Collins lamenting on her obsession with Daré and the silent treatment he received whenever he wants to be intimate with her.

She throws tantrums like a child at Collins in public and indoors.
I wondered why he refused to file for divorce . He is such a sweet , responsible and honest guy.

A night before her death, Collins confronted her after she was caught having extramarital affairs with Daré anytime he's on a business trip.

She opened the can of worms on how he was a bore in bed and exaggerates his sexual prowess in the midst of his friends. She later gave him the divorce papers to sign. He blatantly refused to sign the papers and threatened to make her regret her decision; to be with Daré.

Collins stormed out of house in anger. Few minutes later, Daré arrived at the house and slept over.

At dawn, I heard the sound of shattered glass and a woman screaming at the top of her voice. I heard a thud on the ground after series of wrestling between two men. Felicia sustained multiple injuries on her neck, thigh, wrist and head.

Dare went into coma and died few weeks later . Collins was nowhere to be found but I found him at the mall today helping a lady presumed to be his fiancé with a silver necklace.
