My Cancer Journey: Intro and Before Diagnosis
I've been told by several to share my story as I never know who needs to hear it, so here it goes....
Single mom in remission from Cancer. My girls are my world, they keep me going, keep me sane🙃😀. Currently on a Healing Journey from the damage Chemo has done to my body. They are on this journey with me. My passions are cooking and art. I live with daily pains(hips, knees, back, hands, ribs, nerves, etc.), I also have spasms in my hands, knees, eyes and back. Pains are unpredictable. I've been told by doctors that I may never get back to 100%, but not claiming that, I'm too optimistic for that. I have never had so many doctors, appointments and tests in my life 😁. I have an Orthopedic, Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Pain Management Specialist, a Physical Therapist, etc. I go to Aquatic Therapy twice a week. I'm unable to work and am on SSDI. I try to take advantage of my low pain days. I've learned to finally embrace both chapters and for this reason, they have made me see my strength emotionally, mentally and physically. I'm truly Blessed, I love my life, appreciate the simple things(always have). I'm sharing, not for sympathy, but to hopefully inspire others. To also remind people not to judge because you never know what others are dealing with in their lives. Be kind, uplifting, encouraging, and respectful. So let's spread lots of love and kindness.
Okay, where do I begin, let’s see. So, I had a lump on my chin after I had my youngest daughter. It didn’t hurt; I gained like 60 pounds while pregnant, so I honestly thought it was just from the extra weight. When I lost all my baby weight, the lump was still there and very noticeable. I took my girls to a doctor appointment and their doctor was concerned about my lump; she gave me info of a clinic where she volunteered at that handled special cases{ told me to let them know she sent me). The first time at the clinic was basically a consultation to see if I would be approved to be seen; I was approved the same day. On my second visit, the doctor examined me and then referred to a specialist( I don’t remember what kind, sorry).
