A Child's Remorse Part 4
Ishaan followed his mother down the stairs, he was so relieved that
his mother was well and fine now. The state of the house-made sense
now, but he still was worried about how his mother was living here.

“She needs someone to care for her,” he thought.

"Maa, why don’t you live with us, the house looks like a........"

But his words froze in his mouth as soon as he got to the end of the
stairs because, in lighting, the house didn't felt as creepy as he
thought, it still looked old but seemed much cleaner than he thought a
moment ago.

His mind started to ache as he tried to remember what
he had just seen not more than 5 minutes ago now felt like a
completely different house.


“Was it just the darkness that made it look that way, maybe I am tired
from such a long journey?” he thought. His mother went into the
kitchen and started looking for something to make.

Ishaan sat down on the dinner table, head slumped onto his hands still
thinking about what happened. He could taste it already and there
wasn't even the aroma of cooking yet. His stomach growled noisily
and he had to swallow back a pool of saliva, it had been hours since
he ate those sandwiches.
