THE EARTH'S EMBRACE BY BHENGU SS
Silently, I wait, a stone, unmoved,
A seed, a feather, a petal, renewed.
For the earth, she is hungry, and she waits,
To swallow, to embrace, to fill the empty plates.
And so I rest, my body, a sanctuary,
A tomb, a home, a place to bury.
The soil, it rises, a veil of life,
A cover, a shroud, to end the strife.
And so I lay, as my essence fades,
A blanket of green, a memory, made.
The earth, it calls, it beckons, it sings,
As I dissolve, I return, a cycle that never ends.
O' earth, O' mother, O' protectress,
Cradle me, devour me, accept me, at rest.
A hunter no more, a peaceful retreat,
I wait, I listen, I accept, my earthly defeat.
