A chill that's soul deep,
Heart buried in the iced frost,
No light ever warm,
Mind sunk in dark depression,
Betrayal, the worst pain known.

A briar rose kiss,
Shattered my heart into bits,
The thorns dug so deep,
Even hope can't give reprieve,
Betrayal, a cross to bear.
