I am very much aware of the fact that the term 'childhood trauma' may sound very scary to some people.

It refers to the emotional interpretation of the child of what happened to them.

As kids we can only perceive and interpret things emotionally, not mentally. So, when something happens you come up with your own meaning based on how it made you feel.

Those interpretations especially if they cause a lot of internal pain get stored in a part of the brain until we are ready to process them.

I have heard a lot of people say:

' I have had a happy childhood' ,

but then you take a look at their lives, behaviours and relationships and something doesn't add up.

Your wounds will be visible in your external reality, if you truly had a happy childhood , loving and supportive parents you wouldn't have toxic relationships, unworthiness, guilt, intense fear, chronic illnesses and so on.

People have to be ready to face the painful truth of their own childhood first in order to heal, you can't bypass that.

Forgive your parents for not having known how to treat you and create a life that supports you mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
