#Aftermath

As I walked down the road,
Searching for you,
I saw you standing under a pole,
You looked distant and heartbroken.
I called you but you couldn't hear me,
I ran and hugged you but I couldn't feel you,
I didn't know what was happening,
But, I didn't give up.
I kept on calling and holding onto you,
But you seemed to be indifferent.
You were looking for me all around,
As if I had become invisible.
Right then, I heard a voice-
The voice of the demon whom I serve,
He asked me to go back with him,
And that I didn't belong with you.
But, I refused because I loved you,
He laughed and asked me to forget you,
"Love is a low level emotion", said he;
But, I insisted on being with you.
He then tried dragging me away,
With full force, I prevailed.
I couldn't lose you,
Not when I knew that you could save me,
Because, you were my love,
And, love was what I needed to come out of the hell.
The demon then used his superpowers,
To throw away all the feelings I had,
To turn me into a cold, arrogant devil just like him,
To brainwash me to forget you.
Initially, I could resist his powers,
My feelings for you were too strong,
But then, I lost my consciousness,
And when I regained it back,
My personality had changed for the worse.
Although, I remembered you,
I had completely forgotten about our love,
I had no feelings left anymore,
And, my heart had become too cold,
I started resenting you,
When you tried persuading me,
But, you never gave up on us,
You kept trying until you won,
Until we defeated the demon with our love.
Even though the aftermath was scary,
You made it all worth it.
Thank you for never giving up on me,
As you saved me from going back to hell,
You gave me a new life, and made my heart happy,
Your love for me broke the powerful spell.
