Dear Mum and Dad

I am grateful for the life you gave me and for how you prepared me to look after myself.
I am grateful for how I learnt that good manners, kindness and love are so important. Sometimes they were missing for me in my childhood and I did wish there was a little bit more.

I wished you had been able to give me more love and attention and I wished that our home had felt safer, freer and happier.
But, I do know that life is not always perfect and was not so for you.
You both had more than your fair share of troubles and heartaches in your life.

Thank you for what you did for me
and with all you had.
Thank you for giving me life and making me who I am
