A Wistful Imploration
Hold me close, my dearest lady.
Hold the night at bay
And we'll listen to the rings of silence,
So ignored by day.
Listen to my voice, dear lady.
Let my words take root.
We'll let our souls entwine tonight
Beneath this gloomful moon.

Forgive me now, my sweetest lady,
I do not understand
For the storms that rage inside you
Are merely gales to Man.
Within my soul, there is a devil,
Bestial and brutish.
Never look it in the face, sweet lady,
Its charm is an illusion.

Be still now, my darkest lady.
Rush not the flow of time.
There surely is a purpose
Though I don't know mine.
Life is an enigma
But it need never be forlorn
For Heaven shines upon you,
Dark lady, abrogate all scorn.

Forget me not, my cruelest mistress
Nor the things I've done.
Never doubt my love for you
Although my time has come.
I cherish your memory and harbor no enmity
And I pray your heart rings true.
For despite this dark despair, cruel mistress,
I wish the best for you.
