Of all the lies I've ever heard,
None struck as outrageous
As this curious one
that for dinner,we served

It would have made chicken
think it was turkey surprise,
And sent an Elephant
Flying into the sky;

Why, the authorities called
And asked with great suprise
Whether we rolled in refuse,
And played poker with flies

Even the lie was given pause
And begged to be excused;
It dragged us to court for lunacy
And by the end, the jury was confused

Of all the lies I've ever heard,
This one gave me much to think about;
What it was and what it's worth,
