A Very Familiar Dream
Poet's Note : This poem was inspired by the song 'Once Upon A Dream' from Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

I dreamt of a lovely man walking up to me,
We danced till the caged up doves were set free.

He looked at me with eyes full of admiration and held me in his arms,
His voice sweet as honey and his words meant no harm.

I snapped out of that world and if only I could ask him name,
Eyes brighter than the flame and hair's just like lion's Mane.

I want to know, I just want to know,
What was so special in the eyes of his that glowed?

Very next to the forest, I am in my room,
When the night represented it's very own sombre gloom.

A knock on my door, distracted me from my book,
A local traveller, his eyes wore a lost look.

He asked for some shelter in this gloomy dusk,
A heartfelt fragrance of his intoxicatied musk.

I welcomed him inside and asked what we want?
He asked for a bit of a comfort and a bit of a taunt.

He extended his arms with eyes full of gleam,
I might know him or I don't, we told we have met in a very familiar dream.

Said, he held me in arms and danced with our heart,
We were the dreamers who can't be kept apart.

Hair's just like lion's Mane,
A honey voice that drove me insane.

Look what my face had done,
Our journey to know eachother had just begun.

Looks at the opened gates of my fate,
Now I have been united with my soulmate.
