An end of an era
Is coming far too soon
Of community
Of connection
Of hope
Now plunged into an ever-darkening tragic gloom
Driven out of our kingdoms
That we thought were safe
A belief carved in false hope
It was never meant to end this way
I hope that we each find our paths once again
As we scramble to find new homes
Once again lost and feeling so alone
Plans once made are now forced to fade
Something once promised now torn away
A journey unfinished forever this way
So many of us still had so much left to say
If only we had all been allowed to stay...
