Gratitude!
I am happily stuck at home
Due to the lockdown to prevent the pandemic spread
I cook dishes for my family
I sweep and mop the floor
I cut vegetables many times
For breakfast and lunch and dinner
I clean the toilets to keep it clean
For all of us are home and keep using it
In the midst of all this I keep doing my office work
Hectic it is, no doubt
But I think of all of them with gratitude
My maids who used to help cut veggies
The maid who used to cook for us
Sweep and mop, clean the toilets
The shopkeeper who used to deliver goods
Rice, groceries and all vegetables at home
Our milkman and newspaper boy,
The lady who takes clothes and irons them
And even gives it back to us on time
The farmer who grew our food grains
All the people who transported it to our shops
And now all the doctors, nurses and police force
All those working on essential services
Risking their own lives and that of their loved ones
By being out in the open to ensure
That we stay safe at home and do not fall sick!
How lucky and blessed have I been all this while
To have got all their support for so long
They did it all for a fee I agree
Lot of love and compassion they have shown
Deep in their hearts to keep helping us
Every time they did it for me
A big salute and heartfelt gratitude to them all
Along with a prayer to God that they be safe
That their families stay safe as well
That I can also be of service to them in every possible way
For these sisters and brothers who make my day!
May they all be blessed with abundant health, wealth and cheer, today and always!
