Welcome Autumn, noblest of Seasons
Mercifully you sounded Summer's death knell
Hasten not to be Winter's herald
Paint Nature with your golden palette
Refresh us with your soothing breezes
That cool but do not chill
Gone is Summer's cloying garb
Replaced by warm, soothing clothes
Caress us while we sleep with windows cracked
Bring forth comforting foods of our yesterdays
Remind us not all is sweltering heat
Nor bitter, unyielding cold
Let us bask in your temperate days
Trick or treat and fine feasts are your domain
Once again children, let us remind true children
Of simpler times spent with family
Help us make memories of a lifetime
