SHOOTING STARS IN THE FIRMAMENT
As I looked up to the sky this evening
my eyes drifted to the flocks of birds
flapping their wings and happily flying
savouring the beaut of the blue.
Childhood and naivety are close pals
as five and six are to each other
birds go to school and return in the evening
In the company of one another,
like Aminah and I, so was my reasoning.
Maybe there's a school for them,
that I don't know, but what I know,
Their freedom is unlimited
The green giant trees are their shelter
sway to the waters for their water
beautiful feathers and amazing beaks
pick at food and drink from creeks
No stress, no worries. Thy lord is sufficient
and to His service, they are obedient
Oh ye! The creator of creatures that fly,
the stars shooting across the sky,
grant me freedom and peace
and a sustenance that comes with ease.
