Homemade creamy mash potatoes
and gravy, moist chocolate cake and
don't forget those golden brown, warm,
Fresh loaves of bread,
Christmas morning hot chocolate with
biscuits that my momma spend weeks
baking, "No!, They are for Christmas"
when she caught me sneak some to bed,
Delicious cinnamon rolls and that famous
"secret family recipe " apple pie,
All of these things wrap me in warm
memories of my childhood when I smell,
or taste them as the years go by

Every specific dish, or homemade
something, or some cake my momma
would so lovingly bake,
I still hear her in my teen years saying
"Take smaller bites for goodness sake!"
