When you said that
you steer clear
of people who would soon likely to be exchanging wedding rings with each other-
for the fear of infidelity,
you are all too clear
of the possible misunderstandings with no possible ending:

The blood that will boil
and vaporise into suffocating steam
before turning bad between you and her,
and what about the possible bloodshed?

Friends like you are so few,
and your intelligence reminds me
that I'm lucky to have you.



Inspiration:
Recently, one of my friends who's a lady mentioned that she will not want to get too close with men who already have girlfriends to prevent misunderstandings and cheating. I admire her staying true to her value of lifelong faithfulness to a romantic partner, hence I penned down this poem. Hope you enjoy it! 😉
