You've made a terrible mistake with the worst of all critics, being you.
Everyone seems to have forgotten, forgiven, and moved on.
But, the memories never fade, asking 'when will all of this evaporate, and will those tortures be through'?
Crying in this demented darkness and mourning for the dawn.

Holding on to aspects of both being hurt and having been the one that has done the hurting.
Hopeing that one day, I'll unlock the chains for a freeing redemption.
The screams and the anger inside having a numbness, but still burning.
We've got to find a way to heal, easing up some of the tension.

So far down have I fallen to a state of mind that to myself, yes, sometimes I hate.
There's just no good excuses for some of the things that I've done.
To those that feel as I do, to ourselves, is there a healthy way to negotiate?
They say that time will heal, but in the meantime, it just isn't fun.

So far down we have fallen and have broken our crown.
The adversity of it all will, eventually, give us a break and come to an end.
In the meantime, we'll spiral in an uncontrolled way down.
We should treat ourselves better, like we would our best friends.
