The Hound Of Heaven
The angel dropped upon me like a hawk
that weighed as much as a house: suddenly,
I was being crushed beneath it's armoured mass and battered unmercifully by it's pinions.

Bloodied and unable to mount a defence
I broke away and tried to flee but the fierce
being flung out a hand and caught a fistfull of my hair and I was yanked, brutally, into it's magnificent arms.

And then, with me draped across its forearm like a cloth, the angel leaped into the dawning sky and drove relentlessly toward the heavens and far too quickly I found myself in the terrifying presence

of God.
