I wandered through our alleyway,
Where we used to play,
It was our favorite spot to meet,
Our favorite hideaway.

Every step I made alone,
I felt you by my side,
To feel your hand in mine again,
No secrets left to hide.

But you’re just a shadow now,
Dancing on the walls,
Like pictures on a canvas,
Running down the hollow halls.

I ran as fast as lightning,
But you were always quick,
Lights begin to flicker,
On this lonely path of brick.

My mind began to race,
I hear your goofy laugh,
Thinking of your smile,
From our old photograph.

“Wait for me!!” I said out loud,
“Please don’t go!! Please stay!!”,
I could hear the song you sung,
When we were kids that day.

My tears began to swell,
I couldn’t even speak,
The shadow stopped right at the end,
Right near the busy street.

All was left was silence,
There was nothing left to say,
Like many memories of old,
You disappeared that day.

I knelted down upon the ground,
And left a single rose,
Rain began,
Upon command,
And drenched me head to toe.

The heart and bond we have so deep,
I’ll hold them while your gone,
The memories that we shared, I’ll keep,
Our love will carry on.
