Shadows
I see shadows, they follow me around
like echoes of my past mistakes
all of my struggles, the quilt, the pain
keeping my thoughts spinning round and round
Nowhere to run, no one to hide with
alone in this maze of my own mind
I seek the exit, but I cannot find
any other but to simply quit
Write final words, then close my eyes
because in darkness there is no place for pain
shadows drown in there, go down the drain
till all that is left of me is countless whys
