The Nature of Nursing is far from easy,
Some patients are nice and some are sleazy.
They ask you for this, but this becomes that
And before you know it,
You're throwing out your back.

I've been a nurse's aide for almost 6 years now.
How I've survived this long
I don't know, but I'll go ahead and bow.
Some say we just wipe ass,
but I beg to differ.
If you think your job is hard
I guarantee it's swifter.

Our hours are as long as pinocchios nose
Sometimes we work 8, sometimes 12, who really knows.
If it wasn't for that call-in,
I'd be on my way back home.
Getting rest from the day,
'Cause if not I'll be as dead as bones.
