Last Time
As I gaze across the snowy field,
Reminiscing in my mind,
Of moments gone and days that passed,
Taken for granted all this time.
I feel the cold and shiver,
Sensing the calmness in my heart,
Fondly recalling lost memories,
Running, rolling in the frost.
Feeling the fluffy crystals
Watching, tumbling as they fall,
I couldn’t remember the last time,
I stayed out and endured the cold,
Only for childish pleasure,
And built a fort out in the snow.
How many of these thoughts have left me?
As I continue to age,
To be lost in this new cycle.
Never to be evoked once again.
