Today I risked it,
I had a break down,
Per usual,
But I didn't check my eyes,
So I walked out of the washroom with red eyes,
I had gotten asked what was wrong,
I answered with the usual " nothing, I'm fine, why?",
Their response?
"Your eyes are red,"
I used the " I'm tired and yawned" excuse.
It hasn't been the first time I've slipped up.
I've used the excuses like" something is in my eye" or " I'm tired" before,
I lie continuously about my state of mind to save others,
I make the excuses to help others not pity or worry about me,
Maybe one day the lies will stop,
The excuses will stop being a constant in my life,
The excuses help,
I promise.
