We met thirty-seven years back
Life was pretty much cool then,
Friends, school, movies, and games
Was the thing then?

We were neighbors
I still remember I had been
To your place to ask something
And you were just surprised
To see me.

Days passed by after
Our first acquaintance
And one day
We came across
In our school
We exchanged smiles
And just passed by.

Gradually our interaction
Increased and you agreed
To help me in my studies,
We started meeting every day
At your place.

Our bond of affection and friendship
Grew and so we became good friends.
We shared our secrets and laughed,
Roamed on the roads, lanes, and paths
Of Borivali, Mumbai,
Watched movies and went to the library.

Life was amazing
I felt I am so lucky
To have such a dear friend.
We became platonic friends
And shared platonic love
Between us.
I shared my first romantic affair with you.
You were happy but cared for me a lot.

I too cared for you.
And now,
Years later still we are
In love with each other
But our love is still platonic
And we are adorable besties
Of each other.

Our friendship has grown deeper
All these years
So that I'm heart
And you are my heartbeats dear.
