Now at 68 years old

I was a kid from the south, they called me country
Teasing me in Baltimore, thinking they could taunt me
But I never laid a hand on anyone first
Words were my weapon, they could be a curse
Fighting all the time, defending my name
But I learned that words could bring just as much pain

Now at 68 years old, I've learned a thing or two
I can handle anything, my words sharp and true
Like a sword, they cut deep, don't mess with me
I'll have you questioning yourself, just wait and see

I may be old, but my mind is sharp as a tack
My ink pen is my weapon, I'll always fight back
Disrespect me, and you'll feel my wrath
I'll use words on you, leave you in a bloodbath
So remember, think twice before you come my way
This old man's got a new thing to say

Like a sword, they cut deep, don't mess with me

My past may have been tough, but I've grown strong
Words are my shield, my armor all along
I may be from the south, but I'm a force to be reckoned with
Don't underestimate me, I'll leave you in a myth

This old man's got a new thing to say
Don't test me, I'll leave you in a bind
My words are my power, and they're one of a kind.
