They linger in our auras
They have always been around
Attatched but never seen by us
Unheard without a sound

The energy our life force
As a flame is to a moth
The dead they are attracted
Before they’ve fully crossed

Look upon old photographs
Some take them by surprise
They quickly step behind you
But some aren’t fast enough to hide

Old pictures of you at the beach
But closely if you check
An extra arm or leg..
Somebody just behind your neck

Some say they’re our loved ones
Who passed but want to stay
By sharing of your energy
They’re with you all the way

Others though are different
They don’t look nice at all
A shadow where it shouldn’t be
Angry black and small

Only seen in this life
By the very young or old
The kind who wouldn’t be believed
If a ghost story they told
