I refuse to watch the news
To keep up with the troubles of this world,
not merely from deeming truthful that
ignorance is bliss.
Instead, after all I've seen, after all I've heard,
I highly doubt
that there's something I've missed.

There is nothing new under the sun,
I keep wearing a white T-shirt to symbolize
a blameless life
after all the wrongs I've done.
The only actions new for me are these current ideas flowing from my mind,
so fulsome as much as they are strong,
energy is in motion, and uncontrollable passion has begun.
Troubles of this world combined with mine are just
old reruns.
We either spread lies or use flimsy excuses to avoid the fact
that there are no righteous reasons.
Such things as the eye of history sees.
We have all been stamped by
an unutterable and solemn woe
since the day war came to be-lawless violence has never ceased.

The rigidity and adamancy
we have to continue with such actions appear to capitulate to a dead end.
After all, your enemy's enemy could be my dear friend.
This friend of mine could often vent rumblings of discontent.
I understand as much as the friend can comprehend
to a certain extent.
After giving one's consent to focus on the present,
My poor friend never looks within,
She keeps on talking about the world's everlasting torment,
Adding to the earth-shattering event.
I can only retort with,
‘It is the conscience of the people that is scourged first and foremost by this
slaughter of the innocent.
The main goal is to evolve into your highest self,
don’t be discouraged, dear friend,
thou shall not fear because it’s an illusion
that doesn’t even exist.’
