Morning drama
"Wake up, lazy-head.
The sun is rising"
The birds sing
outside my Window.
"Get up, time to start your day"
my alarm clock rings
Then a crash I heard
the faithful clock shatters
against the wall
"What happened,"
the worried voice of my grandma
as she enters the room.
that is until she sees
the poor shattered clock
her head shaking in disappointment
a feeling of guilt and shame
building up inside me,
then hiding under the blanket
one last time before
my hyper-active puppy jumps
up the bed, yanks the blanket off
and licks me
until I bathe in his saliva.
"ok I am up, I am up"
grumbling I finally woke up
against my will.
